Home Hospice was founded in January of 1995 by Rev. Hilton Chancellor who saw a need for local hospice care that is provided by local people who are involved in the community. Today, Home Hospice, a CHAP accredited agency, has grown to be the largest and most used hospice provider in the Permian Basin, with offices in Odessa, Midland, Big Spring, and Andrews.
In November of 2000, Home Hospice opened the area's first hospice inpatient facility, the Hospice House, which occupies the former Mellie Van Horn boarding house located at 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Tx 79761. In April of 2001, a dedicated pediatric hospice unit was opened within the Hospice House.
Home Hospice expanded its family of care in 2002, with the addition of Home Healthcare Equipment. The owners wanted a medical equipment company which had the same mission and commitment to service as Home Hospice.
Because physicians were often referring patients to us who did not meet hospice criteria, but still needed nursing and therapy services, Home Hospice expanded our services to include home health in 2008. Home Nursing is dedicated to offering our patients the highest quality of care while remaining in the comfort of their own home |
